Honoring Veterans This Memorial Day

Restor-It’s owner, Bob Rowley, is a proud Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps (Oorah!). So, we’re big on supporting other Veterans and those in the Military. We’re also proud to be a part of the local Marietta and metro Atlanta community since 1989.

We had the pleasure of attending the recent Marietta Business Association (MBA) luncheon on May 20, 2019. The MBA puts on great events supporting local businesses and residents. During this event, we were lucky to hear from guest speaker Rocky Sickmann. Rocky is a Veteran who was held captive for 444 days during the Iran hostage crisis. He shared his remarkable story and a message of how freedom is a gift.

Supporting Veterans and Members of the Military

Earlier this year, Bob Rowley also participated in the 50K Destin Ultra Run. It’s a 31-mile run on the beaches of Destin, Fla. that raises money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, which:

  • provides full scholarship grants
  • funds educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations personnel killed in the line of duty
  • and provides immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations personnel and their families.

It was an exciting event that raised over $36,000 and Bob was the top fundraiser, bringing in $5,000!
